Outcome

Sweden's four opposition parties won a majority in the general election on 13 September 2026. The Social Democrats, Left, Centre and Greens took 176 of the 349 Riksdag seats, against 173 for Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson's governing bloc of Moderates, Sweden Democrats, Christian Democrats and Liberals. The Social Democrats came first with 28.0% and 99 seats. The Moderates got 19.9% and 70 seats, and the Sweden Democrats 17.5% and 62. Turnout was 84.9%. The Election Authority published the final result on 19 September.
